Invisalign® is the discreet, comfortable, and convenient way to straighten teeth. The system utilizes a series of removable aligners to gradually move teeth into the proper position. Unlike traditional braces that remain bonded onto the teeth during the course of treatment, Invisalign® aligners are removable. You can remove your aligners to eat, drink, and brush and floss your teeth as normal. Because the aligners are made from a clear plastic material and fit snugly over your teeth, they are virtually unnoticeable. No one will know that you are undergoing orthodontic treatment! The Invisalign® Orthodontic Procedure

To begin the Invisalign® procedure, we will take impressions and photographs of your mouth in order to plan your course of treatment. We send the impressions to Invisalign® so that your series of aligners can be custom made. Once we receive your aligners, you will visit our practice for a fitting, and we will advise you on how to use the Invisalign® system.

You will wear each aligner for about two weeks, and then replace it with the next aligner in your series. The aligners are designed to move the teeth gradually until they reach the predetermined position at the end of your treatment. For most patients, treatment can be completed in about 12 months. To ensure that the Invisalign® orthodontics plan is on track, most patients visit our San Jose practice regularly during treatment.
